Lumberjack

I think I'll hire a lumberjack to cut me from the crutches I have built. If I want to get high, I'll lay down on a forest on a hill.
Oh
Next time somebody's lumberjack tries to cut me back down to the earth, they'll have to cut through the hundreds of the legs that I have built.
Oh
You never know where you're going, so remember where you been.

Empty Hand Reach

You spend a lot of time talking about the future. It never comes so you're stuck in a rut on the furniture.
Limp along, into the future, anyway you can. Grab hold of the sun as it's rising with your empty hand.
Your eyes don't want to open up, but they've got to. You wake up with the ceiling laying on you.
Limp along into the future, anyway you can. Grab hold of the sun as it's peaking with your empty hand.
Building a home you could live in, anyway that you can. Grabbing on to a plan.
The crust dust in your eye is rust of the morning. Uncoil oil and limber up for the evening.
Limp along into the future, anyway you can. Grab hold of the sun as it's setting, with your master plan.
Building a home you could breathe in, anyway that you can. Grabbing on to a plan...

Wrestle a Dove

I broke a heart just to get to yours. I did my part now you do yours; and it's sad: it never works so good.
I held you close and you held me. Now I'm in love, but you can't be cause you're smart. You can hide your heart
You can't wrestle a dove. You can't force a love. I don't know why, but you can't wrestle a dove.
I wasn't out looking for a friend, but I won't try to change the end, cause I know it's meant to be this way.
And maybe someday this will grow. Petals unfold, and it's true love, if there is such a thing.
Until that day I'm stuck on you, but hopefully not like gum on your shoe, but, hey, at least I'd be touching you.
You can't wrestle a dove. You can't force a love. I don't know why, but you can't wrestle a dove.
You know you changed me love. You know you changed me love. I don't know how I forgot it before, but you changed me love.
